What type of sampling containers do I need for my samples/analytes? Download PDF of sample reference table What is the holding time and preservation required for my sample? Download PDF of sample preservation table Should I field filter or have the lab filter my samples for dissolved analytes? According to the Federal Register, Vol. 72, No. 57 issued March 26, 2007, samples collected for analysis of dissolved trace metals (excluding mercury by EPA Method 1631) in order to comply with NPDES permits should be filtered within 15 minutes of sample collection. Samples collected for analysis of dissolved Hg by EPA Method 1631 should be filtered in the laboratory within 24 hours of collection. For more detailed information on these requirements please contact us. If a collection of samples for analysis of dissolved analytes is not being performed to comply with NPDES permits, these requirements do not apply. We can filter samples upon receipt using ultra-clean handling methods. However, field filtering is advised for situations where the concentration of dissolved metals may change over time by precipitation or dissolution (e.g., groundwater samples). Please contact us for consultation regarding filtration for dissolved analytes. Do you provide ultra-clean bottles, tubing, and filters for water sample collection? Yes, we have an extensive bottle washing facility used to pre-clean all plastic bottles we send out. We also provide thoroughly cleaned tubing and inline filters or vacuum filtration units. Please contact us to discuss your sample collection needs. Do you accept samples on Saturday? Yes, we are normally available to receive samples on Saturdays for a small fee. Please contact us in advance to arrange for Saturday delivery. How fast can you provide a sampling kit? Please contact us as soon as you know your sampling schedule so that we can get your sampling kit ready and shipped to you in time for your sampling event. Shipping of sampling kits to US destinations is included in the analytical pricing so long as we can ship via FedEx ground. Shipping times do vary, but usually are within 2 days for most west coast destinations and within 5 days for east coast locations. Large orders will require more time for preparation. Please contact us as soon as possible to ensure that your sampling event goes smoothly and that you won’t incur expedited shipping charges. Do you have guidance on EPA Method 1669, the clean hands/dirty hands method for collecting samples for low level metals analysis? Download PDF of EPA Method 1669 guidance document. What is your standard turn around time (TAT) and what is the cost of faster TATs? In order to provide you with the high level of quality customers have come to expect from us, our standard turn around time is 20 business days. If a faster TAT is required, surcharges may apply. For non-routine analyses or particularly large sample data groups, additional time may be required to complete the project. Please contact your Project Manager for an estimated TAT for your project. Can I find pricing on your website? We tailor the pricing for each project based on a number of criteria, including number of samples, frequency of sampling events, and scientific interest. Please contact us to discuss the needs for your project and obtain a tailored quote. What is the difference between a standard and a high QA data package? All analysis at Frontier GeoSciences undergoes the same rigorous Quality Assurance procedures, including analyst review, peer review, and review by your Project Manager. Our standard QA package includes an informative case narrative, results tables, and tables of most Quality Control (QC) results. Our High QA package (similar to an EPA Level IV) includes everything provided in a Standard Data package plus: instrument QC results and all raw data required for a full data validation, including bench sheets and instrument output. Furthermore, all results reported in a High QA data package receive an additional QA review. Additional surcharges may apply for High QA data packages, please contact us for more information.
