Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Utilities

Various municipal utilities and industrial water generators need to discharge and dispose of wastewater.  All discharges may be subject to regulation under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), depending on the location of the discharge point. Accurate analysis of regulated pollutants is critical for dischargers; false positives lead to unnecessary treatment costs and potential fines while false negatives mask potential problems that will ultimately cost more to fix.

For well over a decade, Frontier has been involved with long-term monitoring and treatment optimization of trace metals in municipal and industrial wastewater.  The methods that FGS employs to monitor trace elements at low levels arms our clients with more accurate information about the true concentration in their samples and avoids false positives and negatives obtained from noisy methods with higher detection limits.

In addition, we have developed specialized analytical methods for Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) wastewater, refinery sour water, wastewater discharge into groundwater and saline water, and speciation methods that have allowed our clients to more effectively troubleshoot their treatment systems.
